Californiaaaaaaa was awesome. LA was cool, Modesto was too hot and San fran was chill. Candy and I had our great adventures and a not so great adventure as well. Well, for starters we had great Mexican food (and El Salvadorean food), vegan chicken and steak kabobs, beef noodles, japanese, in n out (twice for good measure), fantastic Thai, Ghiradelli's square sundae, Fisherman's Wharf clam chowder, and LOTS of good chinese food. mmm, it's delicious just thinking about it.
We also made many drink concoctions including Melonballs spanish style (Midori, vodka, pineapple juice and a splash of malibu) which were fantastically colorful and one of my new favorites, the Southside (Vodka, lime juice, mint leaves blended and added to club soda) which is terribly refreshing. Martini's are also a new favorite (stirred with a lime twist, not shaken because I'm not a pussy like James Bond).
We tried going to Yosemite Nat'l park as well. Notice I said "tried." So after we get there (2 hours away from where we were staying in Merced) the car breaks down right away. We are going towards our destination when our AC breaks but it was cool up in the mountains so we didn't think much of it. Then the car starts smoking. I open up the hood and coolant is everywhere. We call AAA and Candy pretends she's her mother, the person the AAA plan is under. They finally tow us to a shop in Oakhurst (random ass small town in Cali) but it's too late to order a new radiator (ours got a hole torn in it) so we have to stay overnight in some motel. Well, we call one of Candy's housemates and she actually picks us up! We treat her to dinner and Candy takes a bus then a cab back the next day to pick up the car. ugh, soooo not fun.
I saw Transformers 2. It was not good. A lot of stuff didn't make sense and yes, those two robots are racist. And annoying. My biggest complaints involve the Matrix or Leadership, why sam goes to robot heaven (wtf?), why the primes didn't kill the Fallen when Optimus seemed to be able to do it so easily, and why the back of the Smithsonian Air and Space museum in DC looks like an Arizona desert (did anyone else catch that?). Big robots were fun though but there wasn't enough robot action and too much humans running around.
But now I'm back in Kentucky with a month left to go until school starts again.
